We've established in this blog that one of the best ways to push your website to the top of the search engines is to have video on it. We've also talked about how to post videos to YouTube. And we've reviewed the five best tools to record your screen.

Now let's talk about some great tools for creating and editing the videos to create a professional-looking and sounding video.

Here are the top five tools for editing videos for SEO:

AVS
Cost: $34 with the coupon code below.
To buy: http://www.avs4u.com

AVS is very easy to use and very inexpensive. Perhaps the best part is that it is all-inclusive, allowing you to not just edit your videos, but also record TV, audio from your speakers, rip CDs and DVDs, and even create backups of your DVD movies. It is an amazingly versatile toolset.

AVS provides simple, yet complete transitions between scenes, allows scrolling credits. It is the best of the bunch.

Corel Video Studio 12
Cost: $69
To buy: http://www.corel.com

The best thing about this product is that it comes from a name we all know and trust. Corel has been around forever and is associated with computer content. These guys know what they're doing.

Video Studio is easy, but not quite as easy as AVS. And the software is very feature-rich, but again not as rich as AVS. However, its edit tools are second to none and that is the main thing we'd be using it for anyway.

Sony Vegas
Cost: $99
To buy: http://www.sony.com

Vegas is the Cadillac of this category. If you want to impress your friends with a name and a system that works great, you get Vegas. This software is chock-full of seemingly endless features, most of which you'll likely never use. But I can guarantee that you'll never run out. It offers a unique in-line tutorial that will help you use the more obscure parts. And their editing effects are eye-popping.

Unfortunately, Sony is known for over-pricing their products, trading on the Sony name for the cachet that comes with it. In other words, you're paying a little too much for this product when the feature set doesn't justify it.

Microsoft Movie Maker
Cost: Free!
To buy: No need. Already on your computer.

Movie Maker hits our top five because of the cost ... it is free and more than likely already on your computer. Just go Start-Windows Movie Maker. Easy as that.

Unfortunately, creating a video isn't as easy as starting the program. It is pretty tough to do. And the product is feature-poor. The final downside is that you can only create videos in the WMV format. But, hey, the price can't be beat! It won't cost you a thing to try it and it may do everything you want anyway.

Roxio Creator
Cost: $79
To buy: http://www.roxio.com

You know Roxio from CD burning fame. Their stripped-down CD burning software comes preinstalled with many Windows computers. Why? Because it just works.

Same thing with this video editing software. Creator 2009 is fairly complete and it's recording/creation part is the best of all of these. Unfortunately, they lag in the ease-of-use area and their help and support is pretty weak.
